Protection Magick, spell kit and correspondences
Shielding your home, body and energy from harm, negativity and unwanted influence.
Protection is one of the oldest reasons people have practiced magick. In Wiccan practice it covers warding your home, shielding your own energy in draining places, guarding loved ones who ask for it, and setting firm spiritual boundaries. Good protection work is calm rather than fearful: you are strengthening what is already safe, not bracing for an attack. It pairs naturally with ordinary care, so lock your doors and trust your instincts as well. Protection magick should guard and deflect only; it never needs to send harm back toward anyone.
Your protection spell kit
A simple home protection charm
- On a Saturday near the full moon, set a black candle in a sturdy holder on a heat-safe surface. Place a small bowl, a pinch of salt and dried rosemary beside it.
- Light the candle and picture a steady ring of light around your home. Breathe slowly until the image feels solid and calm rather than tense.
- Add the salt and rosemary to the bowl, then set the black tourmaline on top. Say, "This home is guarded, safe and at peace."
- Dab a little diluted dragon's blood oil on a scrap of paper, write the word "Protected" on it, and tuck it beneath the bowl.
- Let the candle burn while you stay in the room, then snuff it. Place the bowl near your front door, out of reach of pets.
Tip: Refresh the salt and rosemary each full moon and rinse the tourmaline briefly, drying it right away.
