History and folklore
Uranus was the first planet found with a telescope, spotted by William Herschel in 1781, so it was unknown to the ancient astrologers. It is named for the Greek sky god Ouranos. Modern astrologers link it with revolution, invention, freedom and sudden change, and they give it rulership of Aquarius alongside Saturn. It takes about 84 years to circle the Sun. Witches call on Uranus energy to break old patterns, spark new ideas and welcome change.
