New Beginnings Magick, spell kit and correspondences
Blessing fresh starts, new chapters and the courage to begin again.
New beginnings magick marks the start of something: a new home, job, relationship, school year, recovery or simply a decision to do things differently. In Wiccan practice this work is tied to the new moon, the dark quiet point before the light returns, when seeds are planted in both garden and spirit. Spells for fresh starts help you set a clear intention, let go of the previous chapter and step forward with hope. They pair beautifully with a small practical first step taken the same day, so your magick and your actions begin together.
Your new beginnings spell kit
A simple new moon seed spell
- On or just after the new moon, ideally a Sunday, set a white candle in a sturdy holder on a heat-safe surface, with your moonstone and some dried dandelion.
- Dilute a drop of neroli oil in a little carrier oil and rub a thin film on the candle, keeping it away from the wick. Light it.
- On a slip of paper, write the new chapter you are beginning in the present tense, such as "I am settling happily into my new home."
- Sprinkle a little dandelion over the paper, place the moonstone on top, and say, "I begin with an open heart." Picture the first small step you will take.
- Snuff the candle before you leave the room. Keep the paper and moonstone on your altar until the full moon, then bury the paper in soil.
Tip: Take one small real-world step toward your new beginning within a day of doing the spell.
