Creativity Magick, spell kit and correspondences
Sparking inspiration, playful ideas and the momentum to make things.
Creativity magick wakes up inspiration and helps you actually make things, whether that means writing, painting, music, crafting, cooking or solving a problem in a fresh way. In Wiccan practice it draws on fire's spark and the warmth of the sun, along with water's flowing imagination. Creativity spells are especially useful when you feel blocked, self-critical or stuck in routine. They work best when followed straight away by making something, even something small and imperfect. Treat the ritual as a doorway into your creative time rather than a substitute for it.
Your creativity spell kit
A simple inspiration spark spell
- On a Sunday during the waxing crescent, set an orange candle in a sturdy holder on a heat-safe surface near where you create, with your carnelian and a cinnamon stick.
- Add one drop of sweet orange oil to the cinnamon stick, not your skin, and light the candle. Breathe in the warm scent for a moment.
- Hold the carnelian and say, "Ideas flow to me freely, and I let them be imperfect." Picture a small bright spark growing in your belly.
- Set a timer for ten minutes and make something by candlelight: sketch, write, hum or doodle. Do not edit or judge anything during this time.
- Snuff the candle when you finish. Keep the carnelian and cinnamon stick in your creative space as a cue to begin.
Tip: Keep a small notebook nearby for a few days afterward, since ideas often arrive at odd moments.
