Gemini Meaning and magickal uses

A mutable air sign of curiosity, conversation, learning and quick, playful thought.

• Intentions: Wisdom, Creativity
• Element: Air
• Planet: Mercury
• Day: Wednesday
• Dates: May 21 - June 20
• Modality: Mutable

How to use it

• Write it twice. Gemini favors words. On a Wednesday, write your intention in two ways, once plainly and once as a short rhyme, then read both aloud. Saying a thing twice is a Twins-style way of fixing it in mind.
• Study spell. Before learning something new, light a yellow candle, sit with a blue lace agate, and ask for a clear, curious mind. Keep the stone nearby while you read or practice, as a cue to stay focused.

Works well with: Yellow Candle, Blue Lace Agate, Lavender, Wednesday, Dill

Folklore

Gemini the Twins is usually linked to Castor and Pollux, the brothers of Greek myth, one mortal and one divine, who chose to share their fate rather than be parted. Sailors called on them for safe passage. Traditional astrology gives Gemini to Mercury, messenger of the gods, so the sign rules speech, writing, travel, trade and siblings. In magick its season, late May to late June, is a good time for study, communication, networking and gathering ideas before the solstice.
