Folklore

Wednesday comes from Woden's day, named for the Anglo-Saxon form of Odin, a god of wisdom, poetry and runes. The Romans gave the day to Mercury, the quick messenger god, which is why it is miercoles in Spanish and mercredi in French. Both gods share an interest in knowledge, words and travel. Witches traditionally use Wednesday for study, writing, communication, business deals and short journeys, and for anything that needs a quick, clever mind.
