History and folklore
Despite the name, bumblebee jasper is not a true jasper. It is a volcanic rock that forms near fumaroles on Mount Papandayan in West Java, where hot gases leave bright yellow and orange minerals in layered bands of calcite. The yellow comes from sulfur and arsenic minerals, which is why it needs careful handling. It only reached the crystal market in the early 2000s, so its correspondences are modern. Witches enjoy it as a cheerful display stone for creativity and confidence.

Safety: Bumblebee jasper contains arsenic and sulfur compounds (realgar, orpiment and sulfur). Never lick it, never soak it in water, and never make crystal elixirs with it. Wash your hands after handling it, keep it away from children and pets, and never cut, sand or polish it yourself. Prefer sealed, polished pieces for display.
