Safety: Fine in normal cooking amounts. Ask a healthcare provider before using cardamom in more than food amounts during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Cardamom essential oil is strong: never swallow it, always dilute it for skin and keep it away from pets, cats especially. People with gallstones are often told to avoid large amounts.

How to use it

  • Love tea

Lightly crush a few cardamom pods and add them to black tea or warm milk. Sip it slowly on a Friday while you think about the warmth and kindness you want in your relationships.

  • Sweet welcome

Simmer cardamom pods with an orange peel and cinnamon stick on the stove before guests arrive. Let the scent tell everyone they are wanted and at ease in your home.

  • Charm pouch

Add three cardamom pods to a pink pouch with a rose quartz and a few dried rose petals. Carry it when you want to feel open, attractive and easy to talk to.

Works well with

History and folklore

Cardamom grows in the rainforests of southern India and has been traded for thousands of years, reaching ancient Greece and Rome as a costly luxury. Across the Middle East it flavors coffee offered to guests as a sign of hospitality. In Western magick it is a herb of Venus, added to love sachets, teas and baking to stir warmth and attraction. Its bright, sweet scent makes it a favorite for gentle love work that feels inviting rather than forceful.
