History and folklore
Friday is named for Frigg, the Norse queen of the gods, a goddess of marriage and the home, though her name is often mixed up with Freya, goddess of love. The Romans gave the day to Venus, which is why it is viernes in Spanish and vendredi in French. With both goddesses tied to love and family, witches traditionally use Friday for romance, friendship, beauty, art and harmony. It is a sweet, social day for magick that brings people closer.
