History and folklore
Greek myth tells of Minthe, a nymph whom the jealous Persephone turned into a lowly plant, though Hades gave her a sweet scent so she would never be forgotten. The Romans rubbed mint on tables to welcome guests, and medieval monks grew it in their healing gardens. Spearmint, named for its pointed leaves, is the gentler cousin of peppermint. In magick it brings soft healing, a fresh mind and a warm, loving welcome to your home.
