History and folklore
Monday takes its name from the Old English for Moon's day, and many other languages do the same, like lunes in Spanish and lundi in French. The ancient system of naming days for the seven visible planets came from Hellenistic astrology and spread across Europe with the Romans. Because of that link, witches traditionally reserve Monday for the Moon's concerns: intuition, dreams, the home, motherhood and feelings. It is a gentle day to begin the week with reflection rather than rushing.
