History and folklore
Honey calcite is a golden, often see-through variety of calcite, a mineral named from the Latin calx, meaning lime. It splits cleanly into rhomb shapes and can show the double image that clear calcite is known for. Most pieces on the market come from Mexico. Its modern correspondences come from its warm color, which recalls sunlight and honey. Witches use it for confidence, motivation and the sweet, steady kind of personal power that grows a little more each day.

Safety: Calcite is soft (about 3 on the Mohs scale) and scratches easily. Water dulls its surface and acids such as vinegar or lemon juice dissolve it, so do not soak it or make crystal elixirs with it. Cleanse it with smoke, sound or moonlight.
