History and folklore
At the full moon, Earth sits between Sun and Moon and the whole face of the Moon is lit, rising at sunset and setting at dawn. People have marked this night for thousands of years, and folk names for each month's full moon, like Harvest Moon or Wolf Moon, still survive. In modern Wicca the full moon is the main time for an esbat, a ritual honoring the Goddess. Witches use its bright energy for divination, celebration, charging tools and any work that needs extra clarity.
