History and folklore

Mookaite comes from a single region of Western Australia near Mooka Creek, the source of its name. It is a radiolarite, a rock made from the tiny silica skeletons of ancient sea creatures, later colored by iron and other minerals into its sunset palette. The area it comes from is the land of Aboriginal peoples, so it is respectful to see it as a gift from a specific place rather than a generic stone. Modern witches turn to it for grounding, stamina, and a sense of adventure.
